ISSUE 007 BRIEF

Clearline007_Brief_vA06.jpg

Community & Collaboration: Submissions for the seventh edition of Clearline magazine are now open. Each edition of our annual publication explores a new theme, and as we reflect on the past six issues, a common thread emerges: community and collaboration. This theme has been inherent in so many of the stories we've shared, but this year, we want to intentionally highlight the community and collaboration of our artists. We ask you to share art highlighting how this theme impacts your practice. As slow makers, we know that many hands touch a garment before it becomes a part of our individual lives. Who has touched your work on its journey?

For this issue, we ask you to view sustainable fashion through the lens of collaboration. We ask you to consider how your textile community is combating the climate crisis. How many hands will it take to create a solution?

Submissions may explore this theme through sourcing, crafting and sharing. We ask that you submit pieces created through collaboration or sourced from the community. Are you making dye from flowers in your friend's garden? Are you processing fibers from a local farm? Sometimes this collaboration is a defined part of the work, but sometimes it's a silent part of the process. Issue 007 hopes to give it a voice.

The Mediums: Textiles – quilts, clothes, weavings, and sculptures which offer a deeper look into the cycle of reuse and sustainability. Other mediums – poems, stories, photography, or any other practice that is a reflection on fashion and textiles in community.

Submission Deadline: December 18, 2026
Clearline 007 Publication: Spring 2027

*Note: We're looking for mainly original pieces that have not been featured in other publications. Your full responses might not accompany your piece. By submitting you agree to us including your work as promotion across our social media platforms, in print, and online.
